Just go, Bashir!

I ascended onto the surface of the Karlsplatz metro station and approached the Viennese city centre. After a few minutes, I suddenly noticed slogan shouting and bass of a drum.

I quickly started to notice African flags flowing in the wind above the heads of members of a small crowd.

I suddenly felt the well-known feeling of adrenalin pumping into my veins as I pull out my camera. I encountered a protest and I was about to shoot a story.

I walked toward a group of approximately fifty protestants and received an informative flier to get familiar with the situation. “We, call upon all those who are interested in justice and human rights, those who have a lively conscience, morals and values,” read the lead of a short text I've been handed.

The protest was held in support of an uprising in Sudan that started around three weeks prior, to stand up towards an oppressive and violent regime of Sudanese dictator Bashir. However, the revolt has encountered a forceful resistance from the side of the current leader resulting already in over forty fatalities.
